Thin Within is distinct from other weight loss programs because it uses a non-diet approach to develop naturally thin eaters. God created a natural hunger/fullness mechanism within each of us, which indicates the appropriate amount of food the body needs for fuel (energy). Thin Within teaches people how to reconnect with their God given signals.

The program uses a hunger scale, ranging from 0 to 10, that helps each person evaluate their body’s current need for food. Zero (0) is empty (true stomach hunger). Five (5) is where the body is perfectly comfortable or satisfied after eating the right amount of food. Ten (10) represents totally stuffed, stretched beyond the limits (that "Thanksgiving kind of full").

It has been proven that you will lose weight down to your natural size and maintain it, if you wait for your stomach’s true hunger at zero (0), and then eat only to a comfortable five (5), which is before that full feeling. If you are already overweight and you eat between 3 and 7, you will remain overweight.. Eating between 5 and 10 will precipitate additional weight gain.

Anyone can eat a certain way for a period of time, but most individuals will eventually go back to their old ways and habits of eating. So why will Thin Within work when other programs don’t? Thin Within encourages you to eat the food you enjoy, eliminating the starve/binge syndrome and the feelings of deprivation. The ability to eat within the confines of hunger and fullness comes from the Spirit of God within. As believers, our bodies are the temple of God, His dwelling place - and we are called to him to honor Him with our bodies.

We do that as we trust in those internal signals He created in us, and look to His indwelling Holy Spirit for His strength and transforming power.  We are told to no longer be conformed to this world – with it’s diet rules and methods, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds – as we study God’s Word and embrace His truth. Standing by faith in God’s truth, we are no longer depending on our own sheer will power, but instead trusting in God, who created our bodies and who works in us both to will and to do according to His good pleasure.  This is the power of God’s transforming grace!
