My daughter was in a play that had it’s last performance a week or so ago.
One of the lines in the play was “Everyone is searching.”

We search the internet for all kinds of things. Maybe this blog was one of the things that came up as a result of search parameters you typed in to Google. What brought you to this blog? What are you hoping to experience, receive, learn by coming here?

My friend just recommended your blog. She and I were talking about how we have both spent a lifetime dieting, struggling with our food/diet idols. I have been bombarded on all sides by messages from God about giving it to HIM, trusting Him, making good choices, but not "dieting" any more. A few weeks in, I have more peace and freedom than I ever thought possible. Thank you for your blog and your BIBLICAL encouragement! I will be checking back frequently for inspiration!

I hit a major milestone birthday this year and realized I have spent the last 20 years of my life with a constant thread of weight/eating thoughts bombarding me. Though I have had some seasons more at peace with food, I know the journey has stolen much of my joy and focus. This year I am saying, "No more!". I am looking for the encouragement and practical idea you may offer. Thanks.

Hi, 247 Mama! Thanks so much for stopping by and for sharing. Over the next weeks/months, I will probably be posting "Nuggets" that I have excavated over the course of the last 10 years of being on this journey. I am excited. As I am setting about this book writing task, the Lord is causing me not only to seek his face all the more to totally depend on him, but to process all kinds of things that I thought were behind me AND to "rediscover" the nuggets of truth that he used to rescue me. i was revisiting thinwithin again because i KNOW that needs to happen in my life. i followed the hyperlink from the forums because of some wisdom you had shared w/someone there. once i got here, i remembered the blog from two years ago and how much it helped me then. i need that reminder to know that i am not alone (on so many levels) in this struggle.

Thanks for letting me know how you ended up here and that you are an "old friend." 🙂 This is the thing…the enemy loves it when he can get us to think we are nuts or all alone or he can get us to feel shame. Shame is his signature all over the place. You are definitely NOT alone. Chances are, no matter what your struggle is, I have experienced it or can identify with you and dozens (if not hundreds) of others at the forums and even here at this blog can too. As we begin to post and share with others about what we struggle with, we begin to emerge into the light. Like a cockroach, Satan can't tolerate the light. Shame is vanquished as well. We send it all scurrying as we dare to speak the truth. Jesus said the truth sets us free. No! You aren't alone! Thanks for stepping up!

I keep coming back here because I feel like you understand my struggle. I want to change so badly, but can't seem to make it a lasting one. So I guess I am searching for permanent change.
