In chapter 18, we are offered a challenge to begin to prayerfully exercise discernment. This can actually be a lot of fun! While we are free to enjoy any food we want when we are hungry, sometimes our bodies respond best to some foods than they do to others. This little video demonstrates (well, sort of) what I have found about my body over the years:
Obviously, godly boundaries are much more involved than merely what foods fit into “Pleaser,” “Teaser,” “Whole Body Pleaser,” and “Total Reject” categories. But this is a great application of this principle.
In reading this chapter again, I became aware of how I have been settling for a lot of Teasers lately!
How about you? 🙂
Heading off to add some things to my gratitude journal now. 🙂
Hey Heidi!Your daughter was soooo cute in this video! I loved it!This concept is so true for me. I could not eat any kind of sugary breakfast because I too would "crash and burn". I have to reserve that for night time when I don't need as much energy to last the day. I'm not on chapter 18 yet, but can tell already that it is one I will agree with and realte to well!

Thanks, Deanna. Can you tell WHO made the "home MADE cinnamon rolls"? LOL!

Looks like your lovely daughter made some wonderful (HOMADE, so funny)cinnamon rolls!Yum! Cheers for listening to Gods leanings on how to care for your body despite the teaser!

Hurray for kids who cook! The cinnamon rolls looked beautiful and delicious. For me, it's not that they make me crash and burn – instead they make me want to eat sweets all day. For some reason almost every time I have sweets for breakfast, I don't stick to my boundaries during the day because I keep craving sweets! (I sure wish I had one of those cinnamon rolls right now, though!)

Heidi–The TW chat room brought your blog up last night and I enjoyed your video and was blessed by your post. As a repeater, I am starting in at lesson 18 with you. Instead of just doing the first TW workbook, I found that by going back to "the" TW book I am encouraged, motivated to lose the pounds I'd added back. Thank you for all your time and effort in providing your blog. Cheryl
